Steven Domalewski

On June 6, 2006, a 12-year old Steven Domalewski of Wayne, New Jersey, was pitching in a Little League game when a batter hit a line drive that struck him in the chest.

The sudden impact caused a rare condition called commotio cordis, a sudden disruption of the heart’s rhythm often caused by being struck by a bat, ball or other projectile. Steven’s heart stopped and he had to be revived.

Steven’s story has received media attention throughout New Jersey and the tri-state area. On August 16, Steven was honored by the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

Steven has since been brought back to his home where he continues his recovery.
